Ultimately, our gallery’s programme is determined by the artists. Participation in the further development of and within art, whilst communicating them to collectors and art lovers, is what drives our work; cooperation creates the basis for this. I see the future of galleries as inextricable from openness to cooperation of the most diverse kinds.
Galleries as cultural venues are comparatively economically sound. Frankfurt, with its central location as an art centre within Germany and indeed in Europe, is consequently a perfect location. Successful galleries require presentation to the outside world, making participation in the art fairs of London, Zurich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne essential. Furthermore, project-related collaboration with artists, museum curators, and exhibition organisers is another significant field of activity for the gallery.
Together with Christoph von Löw, we were able to establish the Media Art Prize and the accompanying exhibition vkunst frankfurt.
The orientation of our work towards future methods of conveying art is a primary goal. I have always enjoyed implementing projects such as School Meets Gallery Meets School, with my son Cornelius also helping to curate several exhibitions alongside young artists for the gallery.
